A Word from the DA
Now is the time to play for the win, but to triumph without integrity and honor is to loose your way in life.
Greetings to everyone and welcome to the 2025 edition of the Indiana Little League District 14 President's Tournament for Major Baseball and Softball. Seeding for the tournament was generated by random draw through the random.org website. As in all my tournaments, the host park will be the higher seeding. In the event that a park has been scheduled two or more games at the same time, the highest seed will get priority. I have chosen to use random.org to set the seeding. The #1 seed will be the top seed with home field advantage unless of a loss. The winner of Baseball Bracket Games 13 and 15, and the Softball Bracket Games 5 and 7, will host Game F1 and F2 respectively. The highest seeded undefeated team to reach Game F3 will host. If the winners of Baseball Bracket Games 17 and 18, and the Softball Bracket Games 9 & 10 win Games F1 and F2, then the highest remaining seed will host. Games F1, F2, and F3 are single elimination games. If the winner Baseball Bracket Games 13 and 15, and the Softball Bracket of Game 5 or 7 loses in Game F1 or F2, they are eliminated as part of the modified double elimination format. Each location is a neutral site with Home and Away being decided by a pregame coin flip by the plate umpire or the park's designated representative. Game times are set for 6:00 pm, If a game needs to be moved to 6:30 pm for travel considerations, email me, both managers and the hosting park president and we will discuss and adjust. Game Day Schedule30 minutes prior game start, Coin flip - move into dugouts20 minutes prior to game start, the away team takes 10 minutes of infield10 minutes prior to game start, the home team takes 10 minutes of infield.
Games must be played to completion, one team leads by 15 after 3 innings, 10 after 4 innings, and 8 after 5 innings. Games cannot end in a tie. If a game is called on account of weather or darkness, and hasn't completed the 4th inning, then the game must be continued the next day. Bracket games must be finished prior to the next game being played. Each team should maintain scoring with Gamechanger, Every two innings, pitch count should be compared to ensure accuracy. Each team should bring a new baseball and a quality used game ball and present them to the umpire at the beginning of the game. The host park is responsible for providing a plate umpire and the visiting team is responsible for providing a field umpire. District will provide Umpires for the semifinal games, F1 and F1, and the Finals, F3. Finally, Minor Players are eligible to supplement the roster to get your team to 9 players, no more. Those players have to be league age appropriate to participate. 9, 10, or 11 year old minors players can be pulled up to supplement the regular season roster in the event of absence or injury to put your roster at 9 players. you can play with 8. 7 and 8 years are not league age appropriate to participate in the Major divisions. I don't want players brought up to sit on the bench either. That is why you can only add players to get to 9. Playing children out of their age appropriate division is a liability issue. We need to do our part to protect the children we have been entrusted with and the leagues we lead. In the event of a weather delay, the entire schedule will be moved back one day to compensate. Good luck to all the teams participating.
